About FatPulse
There is nothing to sign up for at FatPulse. It is a body fat percentage calculator, it does one thing — estimates body fat percentage from tape measurements using the US Navy method and from BMI, then places the result in a category and splits the reading into lean and fat mass — and it gives you the answer without first asking who you are.
Why we built this
The reason FatPulse exists is simple: a tool that does one thing should not need an account, a cookie wall and three scrolls of marketing copy before it shows a number. So this one does one thing — estimates body fat percentage from tape measurements using the US Navy method and from BMI, then places the result in a category and splits the reading into lean and fat mass — and shows it immediately.
How the calculation works
Everything runs on your own device. When you use the tool, the Navy formula combines neck, waist, hip and height in a logarithmic equation, while the BMI method uses a simpler age-adjusted fit — showing both makes the gap between them visible instead of hiding it behind a single number. Nothing about the method is hidden: if you want to check a result by hand, the description above is the algorithm the page actually uses, and every figure you see comes from it rather than from a black box.
What happens to your input
Your measurements and body details never leave your browser. There is no backend that receives them, no database that stores them, and no advertiser that sees them — so you can load the page, disconnect from the internet, and the tool keeps working.
Who this is for
- people tracking a body-composition goal.
- anyone preparing questions for a clinician.
- readers who want the formula rather than a black box.
Keeping the lights on
Advertising pays for the running of FatPulse; nothing here is subscription-based. No advertiser is given the values you enter, and an advert appearing beside a tool is never a recommendation of it.
